Baby Bunnies & Bouncing Bears!

We are located on the first floor of the nursery and occupy 2 separate play rooms, one for the younger babies and one for the older babies. There is a separate sleep room, which is accessed via a door in the Baby Bunnies Room.

We can cater for no more than 14 babies under the age of 2 years at any one time.

Each child has their own key worker, so if a parent has any issues or concerns about their child or their child’s routine it can be discussed at any time with that particular member of staff.

Both baby rooms are bright and well resourced and continuous provision is paramount throughout. All storage is at a low level to encourage the babies to be independent in making their own choices. A soft area is available with books for children to relax ‘A safe and interesting environment, with age-appropriate resources, helps children to develop curiosity coordination and physical abilities (EYFS)

Each child has their own daily routine and with this in mind we will ask parents to complete a daily routine sheet which will provide us will all the necessary information to enable us to continue their child’s routine at nursery, thus enabling the child to feel safe and secure in their new environment. ‘Regular, though flexible routines help young children to gain a sense of order in the world and to anticipate events’ (EYFS)

The key worker issues daily diary books to each child and these are used to provide parents with information regarding your child sleep pattern, food and drink intake, nappy changes and overview of what your child has done that day.

Observations and assessment of your child’s development are carried out on a regular basis and this is used to inform parents on their child’s development in the six areas of learning under the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework.
